The calcium fluoride optical window is between 250 nm and 7 nm μ M has excellent transmittance, so it is widely used in products such as spectroprism, window sheet and lens. Because of its low absorbance and high damage threshold, it has become an ideal choice for excimer laser optics. The low refractive index of calcium fluoride also enables it to be used without antireflection film. The Knoop hardness of calcium fluoride is 158.3. TECHSPEC ® Calcium fluoride (CaF2) window sheet is made of vacuum UV grade calcium fluoride and is often used in low-temperature cold and thermal imaging systems.
