Zinc Selenide ZnSe Windows
The working wavelength of zinc selenide is from visible light to 20µm, it is non-hygroscopic, and the material of zinc selenide is isotropic and has no birefringence. Zinc selenide has a wide transmission band and has low absorption in the red part of the visible spectrum. The reflectivity of the surface of uncoated zinc selenide is about 17% per surface, and there is a 30% transmittance loss through an uncoated zinc selenide window. Zinc selenide is a harmful substance and irritating. It will produce toxic hydrogen selenide when exposed to strong acid or strong laser irradiation, which is irritating to the human eyes and respiratory mucosa. Frequent direct contact with the skin can cause skin problems. Be sure to wear a filter dust mask, chemical protective glasses and anti-penetration work clothes when operating.
