Off-Axis Elliptical Mirrors are finite conjugate focusing mirrors used for imaging at set angles. These mirrors have fixed conjugate image and object path lengths, providing up to 2.5x magnification of the path length from the object plane to the imaging plane.

Off-Axis Elliptical Mirrors are commonly used in Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) systems where broadband light sources require the use of metal reflectors with off-axis designs to meet space constraints. Off-Axis Elliptical Mirrors have a diamond turned cylindrical surface on the base with a radius equal to the distance from the major axis of the ellipse, which is used to align the mirror with the major axis and a flat reference surface, which is diamond turned perpendicular to the major axis.
