Precautions for use of filter
Filter is an optical device used to select the required radiation wave band. The filter is used to attenuate (absorb) some light bands in the light wave or accurately select light waves in a small range to pass through, while reflecting (or absorbing) other unwanted bands. By changing the structure of the filter and the optical parameters of the film layer, various spectral characteristics can be obtained, so that the filter can control, adjust and change the transmission, reflection, polarization or phase state of light waves.
The filter is essentially composed of the substrate+the facial mask layer on the filter surface. If there is physical damage to the facial mask layer on the filter surface, the optical performance parameters of the filter will be changed. So the precautions we discussed are actually how to protect the filter film as the core.
So what should we pay attention to when using our optical filters?
1. The filter should be taken and placed as carefully as possible during normal use, and pay attention to the external environment to avoid scratching the filter surface with zippers, buttons and other sharp objects.
2. Wear finger cots when contacting the filter to prevent salt and acid substances on the hands from corroding the surface of the substrate. Or place the filter in a dirty or harsh environment. Take the edge of the filter by hand when taking it, and do not touch the coating surface of the filter even with the finger cover.
3. The filter should be placed on a soft and clean object, not directly on glass, metal, table, or dirty paper.
4. During storage, it should be wrapped in clean capacitor paper or special cleaning paper, and it is better to put it in a dry storage cabinet. The ambient storage temperature of the filter should be about 24 ℃, and the humidity should be controlled at about 40%.
5. Do not stack the filters together to avoid surface defects caused by friction.
6. If there are stains or finger prints on the filter surface, we can use absolute ethanol to wipe it.
