The fused silica Brewster window utilizes the total reflection property of the material. When the incident light is incident at a specific angle of incidence (called the Brewster angle of the material), the S polarization component of the incident light is partially reflected, while the P component is almost completely transmitted.
Zero reflection loss for P light;
About 20% reflection for S light;
High damage threshold;
Mostly used in laser cavities.
