FWHM 0.3nm Ultra-narrow Band Filter

Ultra-narrowband filters have wide applications in narrow-linewidth lasers, Raman spectrometers, fluorescence microscopes, ultrafast spectroscopy, attosecond lasers, fiber optic communication networks, aerospace, and other fields.

Borisun uses ion beam sputtering and magnetron sputtering technologies to produce ultra-narrowband optical filters. Currently, we can manufacture flat-top and Gaussian filters with a half-width at half-maximum (FWHM) of 0.3 nm in the near-infrared band and 1 nm in the visible light band.

Center Wavelength Uniformity and Processing Capability:

The best center wavelength uniformity level is +/-0.1nm.

Filters with a full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 0.3nm can be processed in the 400-1700nm range.

The Difference Between flat-top and Gaussian Filters:

From a filter fabrication perspective: flat-top filters are more difficult to manufacture.

From a filter performance perspective: flat-top filters can achieve higher power output from the same power light source in the target center band, while also producing cleaner output light with less stray light interference.

Processing Cycle:

Customized products have a processing cycle of 3-4 weeks.

Important Notes:

Blue Shift of Filters. For customers using laser filtering, filters generally exhibit a blue shift phenomenon. This means that when light enters the filter from a larger incident angle, the center wavelength of the filter will shift towards a shorter wavelength. Therefore, customers using narrow-linewidth lasers should set the center wavelength of the filter to be approximately 0.5 nm longer than the original center wavelength. This is more appropriate because adjusting the incident angle of the filter will only shift the center wavelength to the left, not to the right.

The customer provides the center wavelength, half-width at half-maximum (HWHM), cutoff band ranges on both sides, filter size requirements, and thickness requirements
